How To Configure PC For Reader Direct Ethernet Connection

Below are steps on how to configure your PC with a static IP address in order to establish a direct Ethernet connection to a fixed reader from your PC. The IP you set as your static IP will depend on the reader and if network settings were already configured on the reader.

For the Alien F800, the default IP is set to 192.168.1.100. For this IP, the following is recommended:

Static IP: 192.168.1.2

Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0

For the ImpinJ Speedway the default IP is set to 169.254.1.1. For this IP, the following is recommended:

Static IP: 169.254.1.2

Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
